Statement: Viviane Lapointe Endorses Mark Carney

The Liberal leadership race comes at a critical moment for our country. Canadians are seeking a leader who will stand up for Canada’s best interests and I believe that leader is Mark Carney.

Canada faces an unprecedented set of serious and complex challenges. These challenges directly affect our community. That is why it was important for me to consult with constituents in Sudbury and my colleagues across northern Ontario. Through these discussions, It is clear that Mark understands the North and the extraordinary potential in this region.

Mark Carney is uniquely well-suited to understand the interrelated, high stakes challenges and rise of the occasion. He has a proven record of taking on roles when the challenges that lay ahead were great.

Voters across Canada are coming to understand what is truly on the line in our next election. With Mark Carney’s unparalleled experience and achievements, the contrast to Pierre Poilievre’s empty slogans and rhetoric could not be more evident.
