MP Lapointe Encourages Sudbury Youth to Apply for the Parliamentary Page Program

SUDBURY - Viviane Lapointe, the Member of Parliament for Sudbury wants to remind youth in Sudbury who are considering the Parliamentary Page Program to apply before the deadline this Sunday, November 10, 2024.

Every year since 1978, the Page Program has offered graduating high school and CEGEP students from across Canada the chance to work at the House of Commons for a year. In their time working with parliamentarians, the new cohort of 40 Pages will have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of Parliament by playing a role in the rich traditions of the Canadian parliamentary system.

Pages are first-year students registered at one of the eligible post-secondary institutions in the national capital region. They work on a part-time basis for one year.

“Working as a Parliamentary Page is an incredible opportunity for young Canadians. Experiencing the democratic process first-hand provides a deep understanding and respect for our country. Pages will see history in the making and will carry this profound experience with them throughout future endeavors,” said Viviane Lapointe, Member of Parliament Sudbury.
