MP for Sudbury announces supports for two local small businesses

Sudbury, ON – Today, Member of Parliament for Sudbury, Viviane Lapointe, announced $600,000 to help support two small businesses in Sudbury. The funding is being made available through FedNor, and on behalf of the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Indigenous Services and Minister responsible for FedNor.
Feather Company Ltd. is receiving $500,000 to support late-stage development for its patented HIYA device, a Pressurized Metered Dose Inhaler platform for medicinal and adult-use markets in Canada, Europe and the United States.
Dr. Clean Inc. is receiving $100,000 to expand its operations and purchase new equipment to help them capitalize on the immediate and increasing demand for commercial and industrial cleaning services.
Small businesses are one of the largest employers of Canadians, with over 60% of the workforce employed by this key sector prior to the pandemic. In 2019, rural areas were home to 312,500 small businesses. This includes Northern Ontario, where FedNor is stepping up efforts to help small businesses recover, innovate, start or scale-up and create local jobs.
