Quotes
“Every year, the New Horizons for Seniors Program makes a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors across Canada. I am thrilled that we are funding thousands of projects across the country focused on improving the quality of life of seniors. These projects will help seniors fight social isolation, will combat seniors fraud, and will support healthy aging in an inclusive and accessible environment. By supporting these community-based projects we are taking action to ensure that seniors are empowered and have a strong presence in their communities.” –Minister of Seniors, Kamal Khera
“Through the New Horizons for Seniors Program, the Government of Canada is providing a wide range of opportunities for seniors in Sudbury to participate in meaningful activities that nurture their personal growth and foster community vitality.” – Viviane Lapointe, Member of Parliament Sudbury
"The goal of our project is to create a committee of older adults who will become active within the community on a year-round basis that will work with younger generations and teach them the music and singing. We are fortunate enough that music bonds generational gaps and ensures that older adults can connect and create with emerging artists as both mentors and peers. We are grateful for the funding through the New Horizons for Seniors program to be able to put together this committee.” – Mark Mannisto, Founder and President of Sudbury Performance Group
